Pancreatitis & Pancreatic Cancer
Tradjenta is in a drug class known as incretin mimetics and functions by inhibiting DPP-4, the enzyme that degrades hormones that stimulate insulin production in the pancreas, thereby regulating blood glucose levels. Unfortunately, there has been evidence that links incretin mimetics to an increased risk of pancreas inflammation, or pancreatitis.
