Jack3d Lawyer & Lawsuit Overview
As a product of USPlabs, Jack3d was developed as a powerful pre-workout nitric oxide (NO) stimulant. As the name suggests, Jack3d has the inherent ability to increase the body’s natural production of nitric oxide. Therefore, Jack3d has proven capable of increasing nutrient delivery, levels of anabolic hormones, and the strength require for muscle development and recovery. Subsequently, by widening blood capillaries, Jack3d is able to accomplish all of these actions.
The active ingredient found in Jack3d, responsible for these mechanisms of action, is known as Dimethylamylamine (DMAA). Dimethylamylamine is designed to give the user increased workout intensity, focus, and other effects associated with elevated adrenaline levels. When used correctly, DMAA may assist in the development of muscle mass and stamina while simultaneously reducing body fat.
However, the pharmacodynamics of Jack3d may coincide with catastrophic side effects. Recent discoveries suggest that the use of Jack3d may coincide with severely adverse cardiac toxicity and corresponding complications. Individuals who implement a Jack3d regimen may significantly increase their risk of developing severe, life-threatening complications including seizures, heart injury, kidney and liver failure, and death. Due to the severe nature of these complications, patients may contact a Jack3d lawyer at The Senators (Ret.) Firm, LLP for a free case evaluation regarding their potential Jack3d lawsuit.
Jack3d Side Effects
The following is a list of Jack3d side effects that have been associated with the dietary supplement:
- Skin reactions
- Profuse perspiration
- Itchy scalp and skin
While the associated Jack3d side effects may interfere with an individual’s quality of life in a profound way, they are by no means severe or life-threatening. However, the presence of these side effects may serve as indicators for more serious complications.
The following is a comprehensive list of complications that have been associated with the use of Jack3d:
- Irregular heartbeat
- Heart attack
- Liver damage or liver failure
- Kidney damage or kidney failure
- Psychiatric side effects
- Elevated blood pressure
- Sudden cardiac death
Concern regarding these Jack3d complications came to fruition when the presence of DMAA was revealed in the toxicology reports of two deceased U.S. Army soldiers. Each soldier experienced cardiac arrest while engaging in strenuous physical activity with their corresponding units. The younger of the two experienced fatal variations of high temperatures and excessive muscle breakdown. While the 32-year-old victim was able to be resuscitated, severe multiple organ failure resulted in his death one month later.
According to the Directorate of Strategic Communications Office of the Surgeon General, reports from healthcare providers in all branches of the military have highlighted concerns about rapid heart beat, seizure, loss of consciousness, muscle injury during exertion, and kidney and liver damage. If you believe that this product may have contributed to adverse health events in you or anyone you know, please contact a Jack3d lawyer at The Senators (Ret.) Firm, LLP.
The ambiguous nature of DMAA is the subject of a recent class action lawsuit. Johnnie Pacheco has alleged that Jack3d contains DMAA in a “synthetic form that is both illegal and dangerous.” The lawsuit suggests that DMAA is not a derivative of geranium plants, therefore is a synthetic counterpart. Therefore, Jack3d may not be arketed as a dietary supplement. The Jack3d lawsuit was filed in the US. District Court in the Central District of California against Texas-based USPLabs after a military probe discovered traces of DMAA in the blood of two deceased military soldiers.
Pacheco claims that the makers of Jack3d have made false and misleading statements about their supplements’ legality, safety and efficacy. Acknowledging the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) recent draft guidance on new dietary supplements (NDIs), Pacheco’s lawsuit states that the Agency does not consider synthetic botanical constituents to be dietary ingredients, even if they are chemically indistinguishable from their ‘natural’ counterparts. The complaint states:
“Defendant’s DMAA, because it is synthetic, cannot be a constituent of a botanical and cannot qualify as a dietary ingredient and be legally sold in a supplement… nor could it be an extract of a botanical…. because it was not actually extracted from a botanical.”
Subsequently, Pacheco’s Jack3d lawsuit is seeking damages on behalf of everyone in California who purchased the questionable dietary supplement within the past four years.
