American Companies Ground Beef E. coli Recall Lawyer & Lawsuit

On February 5, 2011, The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) in association with American Food Service announced a nationwide recall of ground beef patties and other ground beef products due to reports of E. coli O157:H7 contamination.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service’s personnel were alerted to the E. coli contamination of American Food Service ground beef products that were processed on January 31, 2011 and distributed to restaurants throughout southern California.

Symptoms of E. coli Food Poisoning

E. coli O157:H7 is a potentially life-threatening bacterium with symptoms that range from mild to sever, depending on the strength of the host’s immune system. Common symptoms of E. coli include severe stomach cramps, bouts of diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
