Santa Clarita Coach Returns to California to Face Sex Crime Charges

As reported by, Randolph Jackson, 27, has just been returned to California to face numerous sex crime charges after being found and arrested in Washington D.C. The crimes are alleged to have happened between 2010 and 2015 and involve five teenage boys who attended Albert Einstein Academy in Santa Clarita. During that time, Mr. Jackson was a basketball coach.

According to the report, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has outlined eight felony counts and 12 misdemeanor counts against Mr. Jackson. These include:

  • Three misdemeanor counts of child molesting
  • Nine misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure
  • One felony count of continuous sexual abuse
  • One felony count of oral copulation of a person under 16
  • One felony count of sodomy of a person under 16
  • Three felony counts of attempted oral copulation of a person under 16
  • Two felony counts of committing a lewd act upon a child

Six of the felony charges involve one student and two—the lewd act charges—involve a second boy. The remaining charges account for the three remaining students named in the February 13 criminal complaint.

Facing Harsh Penalties

Upon arriving back in California, Mr. Jackson was ordered to jail under a $840,000 bail. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, he could be sentenced to more than 30 years in prison if convicted. It is unclear what role, if any, the victims will have the case against Mr. Jackson.
